There come times in many of our lives where we feel stuck, lost, confused, alone, inadequate, ill-equipped.... the list goes on.  Thankfully, we know that therapy, offered by a qualified, experienced professional, can help us find our way out of distress and towards greater well-being.  My therapeutic approach puts you at the centre of the process and offers you a safe and caring space to share, explore, and learn.  My goal is to help you build awareness and tools to take away with you that will continue to serve you into the future as you continue to grow.

Sharing a life, a home, daily tasks, children, finances with another individual is no small task, even for those who seem 'perfectly' matched.  After the honey-moon phase often comes a reality wake-up call and a shift of focus from pleasing our partner to our own frustrations and dissatisfactions.  When two individuals are committed to exploring pathways back to each other, there are usually a variety of solutions possible.  I have seen some of the most 'lost' couples finds ways to deepen their connection enough to move ahead in hope and love.  The investment is usually more than well worth the energy, and renders couples more resilient and equipped to weather life's inevitable storms than before.  I would be happy to accompany you in this enriching journey.

Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder in North America, affecting close to 10% of the population in a chronic fashion, and more than a third on an occasional basis.  If you have insomnia, you are not alone.  There is good news, however.  A much-researched treatment protocal called Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) has been shown to be able to help close to 80% of individuals suffering from insomnia.  The treatment protocol takes from 6 to 12 weeks, with most patients finding significantly improved sleep AND tools to help manage relapse and medication use.  Please don't hesitate to reach out for more information.

When insomnia is not complicated by other medical or psychological issues, the option of receiving group treatment has been shown to be beneficial.  Cognitive-Behavioural Treatment for Insomnia (CBT-I) is an approach supported by considerable research.  It involves a structured protocol that can be administered to several people at the same time.  In addition, the group format allows individuals a reserved period of time to exchange experiences and reinforce others' progress.  Feel free to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation regarding the approach.

I have been trained by the University of Massachusetts Medical School MBSR Teacher Training Program to offer clients who are interested 'Initiation to Mindfulness Meditation' sessions.  Group sessions are also available.  Keep an eye on my blog for further information and access to free online meditations.

These lunchtime get-away meditation sessions (5 in all) are offered to small groups (minimum 5 people, maximum 20).   Their purpose is two-fold - (a) to offer a much-needed pause in the middle of our hectic days, and (b) to initiate or deepen mindfulness practice for those interested in learning about: awareness of the breath and body, gratitude, loving kindness and compassion.  Why not get some friends/colleagues/family members together for a try?

Free Discovery Call (15 minutes)

If any of these services seems appropriate for you, please write to meagandaley@mypsychcare.online to book a 15-minute phone or video consultation at no charge.  A 'good match' between a client and therapist has been shown to be the most important contributor to client progress and satisfaction.  A quick chat can let us see how the 'fit' is.
